THE VALE council would like to hear residents’ views on proposed changes to recycling and waste collections.

In order to meet the Welsh Government's next statutory recycling target of 64 per cent recycling by 2019/20, the Vale council is proposing to introduce a limit on the number of black bags of waste it will collect from each household.

These new proposals have been introduced with the aim to limit the amount of waste collected and increase recycling rates.

The council is also proposing to move from co-mingled recycling collections to 'source separated' recycling during 2019.

The 'source separated' model is intended to increase recycling rates.

You can have your say on these changes by completing a five minute online survey on your preferred ways of recycling.

Vale council staff will be visiting areas across the county to help offer advice on recycling and to capture residents' feedback.
