POLICE in Barry are appealing for witnesses or information after a 17-year-old boy was injured.

The incident concerned a disturbance which occurred at around 10pm on April 21 near the Splash Pad , Pencoedtre Park in the Gibbonsdown area of the town.

A group of young people aged around 17 and 18-years-old were involved in the disturbance during which a 17-year-old boy was injured and was taken to the University Hospital of Wales where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries. A red Ford Focus was also damaged.

An 18 year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. He is currently being held at Cardiff Bay police station.
