THE following cases have been heard at Cardiff and Vale Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Cardiff.

Christine Waszczuk, 54, of Park Crescent, Barry, pleaded guilty to drink driving. She was banned from driving for three years and fined £150, as well as being ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Angela Simpson, 48, of Roberts Close, St Athan, pleaded guilty to three counts of theft for stealing dog treats and training accessories from Pets at Home in Barry. She was banned from entering Marks and Spencers in Culverhouse Cross and Pets at Home in Barry Waterfront, ordered to pay £100 compensation, £105 in court costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Lesley Ingram, 46, of Cross Street, Barry, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention and failing to stop at the scene of a traffic collision. He was given seven points on his driving licence and fined £350, as well as being ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £35 victim surcharge.

Daniel Campbell, 24, of Dock View Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and driving without insurance. He was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, as well as being ordered to carry out 60 hours unpaid work, pay £85 in court costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Ellis Hopgood, 27, of Greenacres, Barry, pleaded guilty to disclosing a private sexual photograph or video of somebody to others without their consent, breaching the terms of a conditional discharge and criminal damage. He was sentenced to eight weeks in prison, suspended for two years, ordered to carry out 120 hours unpaid work, fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

David Jenkins, 50, of Hunter Street, Barry, was found guilty of sending electronic communications of a grossly offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing character. He was sentenced to nine weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months and was given a restraining order, as well as being ordered to pay £620 court costs and a £115 victim surcharge.
