VALE AM Jane Hutt got on a bike to support the Royal British Legion in Wales with their second commemorative Poppy Ride at the Senedd.

As part of Remembrance 2017 in Wales, the RBL held their second commemorative Poppy Ride on Tuesday, October 14.

Assembly Members and staff took part, alongside colleagues in Westminster who took part in a Poppy Ride in Portcullis house, in a five minute static bike ride with the aim to collectively cycle the distance from the Assembly to Passchendaele.

As a committed member of Royal British Legion Barry branch, Vale AM, Ms Hutt took part in the Poppy Ride cycling as far as she could in her five minutes and improving her time on last year.

Afterwards she met two members of the Royal British Legion Admiral Nurse Service which offers specialist support information and advice to the carers of people with dementia.

Ms Hutt said: “I am very pleased that the Royal British Legion in Wales has continued this event for the second year and I would like to thank them for arranging it. The Royal British Legion plays a vital role in Remembrance as well as supporting the Armed Forces community. I enjoyed taking part in my second Poppy Ride and I am glad to support this worthy cause.”
