South Wales Central AM Andrew RT Davies has urged Vale residents give up some time to help out local organisations in the area.

Mr Davies made the comments at Glamorgan Voluntary Services’ Volunteer Fayre – which took place on Thursday at Barry Memorial Hall.

58 organisations from across the Vale took part – ranging from the British Heart Foundation to the RNLI.

Mr Davies discussed the opportunities available with GVS Chief Executive Rachel Connor and Operational Manager Clive Curtis – as he urged more people to get involved.

Mr Davies said, “It was fantastic to go along to the GVS Volunteer Fayre – and see so many vibrant and dynamic people keen to get involved.

“People from all ages were signing up – but the Memorial Hall had a real buzz about the place that reminded me of a university freshers’ fayre.

“Rachel and Clive were very pleased with the number of sign ups – but there is always room for more. I’d urge all Vale residents to make the most of the opportunities on offer and give something back to the local community.”
