THIS week the nostalgia section features a photograph taken in Barry Island, in the the run-up to Christmas in 1974.
It was taken in the old YPA hall in Other Road (now Earl Crescent) and features the entire cast of Puss in Boots which was the pantomime put on by the youth club that year.
The Barry Island YPA, formed in 1919, is now known as the Barry Island YPO.
It regularly performed fundraising pantomimes from 1951 until the late 1970s.
The pantomimes were hugely popular with the residents on the Island and every performance was always a sell-out.
