THE following cases have been heard at Cardiff and Vale Magistrates' Court, sitting in Cardiff.

Luke Miller, aged 20, of Rhodfa, Barry, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was fined £150 and ordered to pay court costs of £200, as well as a victim surcharge of £30.

Andrew Brooks, aged 36, of Glenbrook Drive, Barry, pleaded guilty to assault by beating and causing harassment, alarm or distress. He was given a restraining order and a 12 week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, as well as being ordered to pay £620 in court costs and a victim surcharge of £115.

Nathan McKernon, aged 32, of Porthkerry Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was given a community order and fined £80, as well as being ordered to pay £75 compensation, £85 in court costs and a victim surcharge of £85.

Geraint Berry, aged 38, of Holton Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to harassment. He was given a restraining order and a community order, as well as a £65 fine. He was also ordered to pay £100 compensation and a victim surcharge of £85.

Tyler Partridge, aged 23, of Pontalun Close, Barry, pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal damage and causing racially aggravated harassment, alarm or distress. He was imprisoned for eight weeks and ordered to pay compensation of £400. He was also fined a total of £320.

Stephen Thomas, aged 41, of Lailston Close, Barry, pleaded guilty to using abusive and threatening language suggesting violence. He was fined £266 and ordered to pay £85 in court costs, as well as a victim surcharge of £30.

Lee Williams, aged 42, of Maple Close, Barry, was found guilty of fraud and also pleaded guilty to failing to surrender, harassment, theft of a motor vehicle and criminal damage. He was given a 26 week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months and ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work. He was also fined £8,200 and ordered to pay £820 in court costs, £500 compensation and a victim surcharge of £115.

Tee-Jay Caton, aged 26, of Hardy Close, Barry, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was given a community order and instructed to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work. He was also fined £150 and ordered to pay £85 in court costs, as well as a victim surcharge of £85.

Aaron Dutton, aged 19, of Holton road, Barry, pleaded guilty to criminal damage. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay compensation of £200.

Gareth Lloyd, aged 48, of Arno Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to failing to notify the Department for Work and Pensions of savings that would affect his benefits. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 in court costs, as well as a £30 victim surcharge.
