SULLY Centurions travelled to Crumlin and discovered that the game had been called off by the umpire in spite of the forecast for the rest of the day being good. Given that Crumlin were top and Sully second, it was extremely frustrating for Centurions, particularly as third placed Monmouth won their game against Machen, achieving maximum points. This now means that Machen have nosed ahead of Centurions in the promotion race.

The second XI faced a strong Crumlin second XI side and were beaten by eight wickets at Burnham Avenue. Batting first, Sully lost the early wickets of Harish Hirani and Ali Raza. Jason Hicks (35) and Rhett Jones (23) put some impetus back into the home side's batting, but when Jones lost his wicket, with the score on 75 it led to a mini collapse of the middle order as Centurions slumped to 109 for 6. Youngsters Aron Emyr (26) and Lewis Pyke (20) showed some resistance with a stand of 40 for the seventh wicket. But the last three wickets fell for just five runs as the innings came to a close on 154. Davies, with 3 for 35, was the pick of the Crumlin bowlers.

In reply, the visitors lost the wicket of Davies (17) with the score on 24, thanks to an athletic diving catch by Aron Emyr off the bowling of Gethin Hicks. However, the second wicket pair of Meek (27) and Threepan Dilshan put on 118 to take the game beyond Sully's reach. Dilshan ended on an impressive unbeaten 93 as the visitors ran out convincing winners.

This leaves Centurions in third place in the table as the league enters its final two weeks.
