THE following cases have been heard at Cardiff and Vale Magistrates' Court, sitting in Cardiff.

Thomas Hodges, aged 30, of Holton Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to theft for stealing a pair of socks from Sports Direct, as well as pleading guilty to possession of a Class B drug. He was ordered to pay £85 in court costs as well as a £20 victim surcharge. He also received a conditional discharge lasting 12 months.

James Crane, aged 26, of Beatrice Road, Barry, admitted to breaching conditions of his community order on three separate occasions, after failing to attend required appointments. He was given a suspended sentence of 18 weeks, suspended for two years, and was ordered to carry out an additional 40 hours of unpaid work added to his original sentence. He was also ordered to pay £60 in court costs.

Steven Evans, aged 28, of High Street, Barry, pleaded guilty to sending electronic messages of a grossly offensive, indecent or menacing nature. He was fined £280 and was ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a victim surcharge of £30.

Jay Tierney, aged 23, of High Street, Barry, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly and to breaching the terms of a conditional discharge. He was fined an additional £240 and ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £30.

Daniel Jones, aged 19, of Plymouth Road, Barry Island, admitted to breaching conditions of his community order for failing to attend required appointments. He was fined £75.

Kieron Aspinall, aged 19, of Barry Road, Barry, admitted to breaching conditions of his community order for failing to attend required appointments. He was fined £240 and ordered to pay court costs of £60.

Michael Stillman, aged 55, of Dunlin Court, Barry, pleaded guilty to theft for stealing a Michael Kors purse, as well as pleading guilty to possession of a Class B drug. He was ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and received a conditional discharge lasting 12 months.

Chad Clemo, aged 45, of Laburnum Close, Barry, pleaded guilty to criminal damage to a car and verbal abuse in breach of a restraining order. He was sentenced to 23 weeks in prison and ordered to pay compensation of £250, as well as a victim surcharge of £115.

Stephen Haggard, aged 41, of Vere Street, Barry, pleaded guilty to possession of a Class B drug. He was sentenced to seven days in prison and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.
