THE following cases have been heard at Cardiff and Vale Magistrates' Court, sitting in Cardiff.

Keith Simpson, aged 48, of High Street, Barry, was found guilty of assault by beating, criminal damage and theft, as well as pleading guilty to being drunk and disorderly and using violence to force entry. He was sentenced to 38 weeks in prison and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.

Jonathon Morris, aged 29, of North Walk, Barry, pleaded guilty to driving whilst under the influence of drugs. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 in court costs, as well as a victim surcharge of £30. He was also disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Neil Haggard, aged 35, of Herbert Street, Barry, pleaded guilty to criminal damage for damaging a set of car keys. He was ordered to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work, as well as pay £85 in court costs and a victim surcharge of £85.

Ben Stephenson, aged 33, of Beryl Place, Barry, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was ordered to carry out 70 hours of unpaid work, as well as pay £200 in court costs and a victim surcharge of £85.

Kane Haines, aged 27, of Borough Avenue, Barry, pleaded guilty to assault by beating and criminal damage for destroying a mobile phone. He was sentence to eight weeks in prison suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £100 compensation.

Matthew Ellis, aged 27, of Heol Leubren, Barry, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was fined £310 and ordered to pay £100 compensation, £150 in court costs and a victim surcharge of £31

Gerard Clogg, aged 45, of Trinity Street, Barry, pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive language that would be likely to cause harassment or distress. He was fined £153 and ordered to pay £85 in court costs, as well as a victim surcharge of £30.

Daniel Banks, aged 24, of Cawley Place, Barry, pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order. He was fined £50 and ordered to pay £85 in court costs, as well as a victim surcharge of £85.

Joseph Chesaites, aged 44, of Merthyr Dyfan Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to possession of a Class B drug. He was fined £50 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30.

Connor Adams, aged 20, of Phyllis Street, Barry, pleaded guilty to criminal damage for damaging a glass door. He was fined £120 and order to pay £160 compensation, court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £30.
