HAVE you ever wanted to be a comic book villain?

Twin brothers, Rhys and Gerald Horler, of Barry, are offering the opportunity to appear as an evil villain in their Vale-inspired vampire comic Pure Bloodlines.

In an effort to get the six-issue series off the ground, the pair, both aged 34, have launched an online funding campaign and are offering one person the chance to see a character based on their likeness appear in the story in exchange for a £100 pledge.

Gerald said: “People want to be in the comic which has given us the idea for someone to make a pledge. I’ve already got the good guy. I need a bad boy or bad girl.”

The acting and film-producing duo, of Highlight Park, began their artistic careers using iPhones.

Their first movie made its mark at the San Francisco-based iPhone Film Festival in early 2013.

Their “no budget” vampire hunter action comedy horror Pure Bloodlines: Blood Is Thicker Than Water was filmed on iPhone and issued world wide, by Amazon LOVEFiLM.

The brothers said they always thought the Pure Bloodlines series was a natural fit for a comic book and have set-up an online funding site to raise £500 needed for the six-book series to go to print.

Gerald said: “When we were doing the films we wanted a comic-book style. Normally, films come from comics. It’s taken about two years from here to now. I’ve tried to keep people and their likenesses in the comic.”

In the comic, twin brothers Gerald and Rhys Horler hail from a long and proud lineage of vampire hunters dating back to medieval times. The Horler Knights fight for their legacy, hunting elusive head vampire, Visconti.

Rhys follows the principles and disciplines of a warrior while Gerald feels weary of constant training and fighting and yearns for a more normal life after killing an assassin sent after him by Visconti.
