A LIVE black and white kitten has been found in a blue carrier bag in Barry.

RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information after the cat was found in a children’s playground on Vere Street.

The 10-week old kitten was discovered by a member of the public who found the kitten on Sunday night at around 11.30pm.

Anyone who may have information about this kitten or who knows who the owner is should contact the RSPCA inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018.

Calls are treated in confidence.

RSPCA inspector Gemma Black said:"Sadly, it is possible that this beautiful kitten may have been abandoned but if the kitten did escape and someone knows who the owner is, we really would like to reunite them.”

RSPCA Cymru would like to remind people to get their pets microchipped to give their lost pets the chance of returning home.

They say it is also important to register the chip with a national database and update your contact details if you move or change phone number.
