AN EIGHT-YEAR-OLD schoolboy has added his voice to the campaign to stop Biomass UK No. 2 Ltd obtaining a licence to operate in Barry.

Holton Primary school pupil Carter Perry filmed a voiceover for a video shot by incinerator campaigner Matt Lock.

The video juxtaposes images of Barry with Carter’s voiceover.

Mum, Julia Brunskill said: “Carter did get really upset at first. It highlighted what the incinerator meant with it being juxtaposed with the beautiful side of Barry. He wanted to show people he didn’t want the incinerator.

“It took around half an hour of filming him with his friends, Bethany Hopkins, Nevaeh Hopkins and Rhys Salter.

“I hope everyone will see it. The children need to be protected from the potential health impact that is threatening them. They shouldn’t have to write letter or make films.

“The adults in power should be doing this. This film will hopefully gain the support to stop the incinerator. People tell me that it either gives makes their eyes tear up or outright confess to crying when they watch it. It brings home the reality of what an incinerator, on the edge of this large town, will do to these children for years to come.”

Carter said: “I loved doing the video. I did it because I don’t want (the incinerator). I’m doing all I can to stop it.”
