The Vale of Glamorgan Council’s 50 + Strategy forum is set to host an event at Barry Library to promote creativity in the elderly.

Taking place between 10am-3pm on May 16, the Vale 50+ Strategy Forum Gwanwyn Festival Event provides an opportunity for Vale residents aged 50 and over to try their hand at a range of arts and crafts.

The free event will present a variety of activities to those attending, including LIFT (Low Impact Functional Training), jewellery making, a group sing-a-long, and a shared reading group.

Further creative classes include animal illustration for beginners, a gardening workshop, a nail design bar and an Indian head message class.

Digital Champions are also set to attend, and provide visitors with advice on how to use their digital devices, whilst the Cardiff and Vale College will have their mobile wagon parked up at King Square.

For more information on the event, contact John Porter, Older People’s Strategy Co-ordinator for the Vale of Glamorgan Council, on 01446 709779 or jporter@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk.
