ON INTERNATIONAL Women’s Day, Atal y Fro Domestic Violence Services hosted an event in the surroundings of the Chamber in Barry Town Council Offices thanks to the generosity of the mayor, Cllr Charlotte Williams and her staff.

The Town Council staff have adopted Atal y Fro as its Charity of the Year.

This year’s theme was Be Bold for the Future –Atal y Fro director, Kay Quinn asked that everyone works together to: "Be Bold in tackling Domestic Violence. Come to Atal y Fro for help – if you know it’s happening to someone else – tell them where to get help."

The group wants to thank Waitrose and Asda for supplying cakes and refreshments.

Huge thanks goes to Butterflies, Beauty Basics and the Secret Garden and to all those who helped raise £200 between refreshments and raffle.

This money will be used to provide treats for mothers and children in refuge.
