BRYN Hafren Comprehensive School hosted a special event for the SEREN group.

This a group of sixth formers from schools across the Vale, identified as more able and talented, are given support to help them through their sixth form and helping them to gain places at Russell Group Universities - some of the best universities in the country or even Oxford and Cambridge.

The pupils watched a presentation given by Cambridge University. They were informed of the teaching practices at Cambridge and how their one-to-one teaching was more personal and differed from other universities' lectures.

The pupils enjoyed networking with like-minded pupils across the Vale.

Shanjidah Ahmed said: "It was a great experience, which provided plenty of information to allow me to consider my pathways after A-levels.

"I was able to engage with the presentation and I am now thoroughly informed about my opinions for the future."

This was the second meeting this academic year and students can look forward to future events based at Bryn Hafren including preparing for the interview process.
