THE line-up for the 2017 GlastonBARRY live music festival has been announced, with 12 tribute acts on the bill.

Now in its fifth year, the annual event will take place at Romilly Park, in Barry, in July.

Capacity on the day will be 4,000, with some of the UK's best tribute bands, plus local support acts, two stages, and special guests.

GlastonBarry is the flagship event of its organisers, Mack Events.

The duo behind the company – Ross Mackintosh and Matt Blumberg – have previously brought sporting stars including Paul Merson, Matt Le Tissier, Neil Razor Ruddock and Jamie Roberts to Barry.

They have also been involved in a number of other events, including Penarth Rocks Music Festival and Ice Central, also in Barry.

Mr Mackintosh said: "GlastonBARRY 2017 is by far the biggest event we have ever done.

"We’re working with the best bands we have ever worked with. We have a much bigger capacity, and have twelve of the UK's biggest and best tribute acts plus local support acts over two stages.

"We have kept the prices very low and that wouldn't have been possible without the help of our sponsors.

"We have done a lot of research and you won't find a more reasonably priced tribute festival in the whole of the UK.

"We try to make everything very affordable including the drink prices. We try to create something that we would love to go to ourselves."

Mr Blumberg added: "We are both blown away by the support and response we have had for GlastonBARRY over the past five years.

"It’s really caught the imagination of everyone in South Wales and we have people travelling from all around the UK to attend.

"We’ve even had people flying in from California, New Zealand, Spain and Tonga to attend the festival.

"It’s quite amazing.”

GlastonBARRY will be held at the Mack Events Marquee in Romilly Park, on Saturday July 29,and Sunday July 30.

The line-up includes the Prince tribute band, Purple Rain; 11-piece band The Stevie Wonder Experience; a David Bowie tribute, Absolute Bowie; an Oasis tribute, Oasish; the UB40 tribute, Johnny2Bad’; an ACDC Tribute, ACDC UK; a Kings of Leon tribute, The Four Kicks; a Jam tribute, The Jamd; a Stereophonics tribute, Stereotonics; a Bryan Adams tribute, The Bryan Adams Effect; a Verve tribute, Verve UK; a West End musical tribute band, The Valli Boys; and a Ska tribute act, which is yet to be confirmed.
