A BARRY man has been jailed for 16 months for drugs offences after his home was raided by police.

Daniel David, 22, was arrested after a warrant was executed at a property on Dudley Place in April last year.

Officers found a quantity of amphetamine and cannabis worth approximately £800, along with weighing scales and other paraphernalia linked with drug-dealing.

David, of Holton Road, pleaded guilty two charges of possessing Class B drugs with the intent to supply, and was given eight months custody for each offence at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday, January 13.

Detective Sergeant Julian Kerslake, who carried out the investigation, said: “Daniel David’s arrest and conviction was a result of a well-planned operation and this investigation shows that we are determined to rid our communities of drugs.

“Drug dealers cause serious harm and we will continue to target those involved in the supply of drugs in Barry.

“I would urge the members of the public to tell us if they suspect illegal drug activity is taking place where they live, as results such as this one show that we can – and do – act upon the information we receive.”

Anyone with information should report it via 101.
