FOR many years, members of Soroptimist International Barry and District have donated items to Atal y Fro, a unique organisation which provides support for women and children within the Vale of Glamorgan who have experienced, or are experiencing, domestic violence.
Atal y Fro also provides temporary, emergency, safe and secure accommodation for female victims of domestic abuse.
In the hope of making Christmas more enjoyable for women and children who are staying in the refuge over Christmas, president Pat Salt, together with club member, Jackie Memory, recently delivered gifts to the organisation.
Presents for the mothers consisted of wash bags filled with toiletries, mugs filled with chocolates, biscuits and luxury tea bags. For the children, amongst the gifts were books, including hedgehog folding books, teddies, colouring pencils and sweets.
