OVER the past year, members of Soroptimist International Barry and District have been donating toiletries to the Sam Davies Ward at Barry Hospital.
Items such as shower gel, soap and toothpaste, have been given on a regular basis.
As an older persons ward, these items are much appreciated by both staff and patients, as they provide gifts which the ward would not be able to supply.
Also, some patients have no family and therefore may have no one to bring in essential toiletries.
On a recent visit Soroptimist president Pat Salt, accompanied by programme action officer Jackie Memory, delivered a large box of varied toiletries which was received by Debi Gee who works on the ward.
Ms Salt commented that: “Club members are pleased to be able to support their local hospital and respond to this need".
