LIVE music will entertain visitors to Ice Central as Mack Events sets up ahead of Saturday.

Four live acts will be performing across the nine-day event, with a DJ performing to keep the music going.

Those not in the music tent can still enjoy the entertainment as sound will be broadcast across the ice rink in King Square.

Mack events are responsible for arranging the entertainment, fresh from organising a number of hugely-successful events, including the GlastonBarry festival.

“We’ll be putting on the music, there will be four live acts and also a DJ,” said Mack Events co-founder Rock Mackintosh.

“There will be a stage within a marquee and a seated area as well as a cafe selling things like hot dogs.

“On Sunday between 5pm and 7pm Sarah Brown will be playing an acoustic blend of modern and older songs.

“On Friday, December 2 we’ve got another great band called The Acoustic Sinners, who will play a variety of covers.

“There will be another act the next day, still to be confirmed, and on Sunday the Four Kicks, a really talented four-piece band from Leicestershire will be on stage.

“Live Music will be transmitted from the tent area to speakers by the rink so skaters can hear it as they enjoy the ice, the same will happen for DJ sets either side of the live music.

“Watching the marquee go up is really exciting. We’re all really looking forward to it.

“We have experience of putting on big events like GlastonBarry and this event could be amazing for the town.”

Ice Central will offer seasonal food, drinks and live music as well as a family-friendly skating experience.

The Ice Central rink will open at 5.30pm on Saturday, November 26, and then every day until Sunday, December 4.

Prices start from £3 and a family ticket will be available for £10.
