A FINAL push is being made by the family of murdered Barry teenager Conner Marshall to help them raise the funds for a planned legal battle with the probation service.

Conner’s mum, Nadine Marshall is asking people to help support her £5000 campaign so that the funds can be released by the Wednesday, November 2 deadline.

The ‘A Voice for Conner’ appeal has so far raised £1800 towards taking legal action against the Wales CRC/ Probation service to change they way they operate. The changes are in light of shortcomings in the monitoring of David Braddon, the man who killed 18-year-old Conner in March 2015.

Mrs Marshall said: “I would really like to thank everyone for the pledges so far, reminding that pledges will only be processed if we reach the initial target.

"We’ve had pledges and messages of support from around the world, Australia, Canada, Germany and a huge amount of support from family, friends and the local community.”

The funds would be used to employ legal experts to examine documents and evidence so steps can be taken to prevent other families being denied access to probation information following a serious crime.

Nadine Marshall believes her son would still be alive if Braddon had been monitored correctly.

She said: “There were circumstances and events which should have put the professionals on alert and would have led to Conner still being alive today if things had been managed appropriately with sufficient information sharing.”

Any donations can be given/sent to Mrs Marshall’s mother Mrs P Shirley, 12 Bridgeman Court, Penarth, who will then pay into the crowdjustice account.
