The following cases were heard at Cardiff and Vale Magistrates' Court sitting at Cardiff:

Maria Wendy James, aged 45, of Trinity Street, Barry, pleaded guilty to stealing £77.20 worth of perfume, stealing £56.44 worth of food and personal items and two counts of failing to surrender to custody. A community order was made and she was ordered to pay £100 costs and a £60 surcharge.

Jordan Michael Holley, aged 18, of Castleland Street, Barry, pleaded guilty to drug driving. He was fined £120 and disqualified from driving for 12 months. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.

Callum Powell, aged 19, of Tennyson Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to assault. A restraining order was made and he was fined £150. He was ordered to pay £100 compensation, £250 costs and a £30 surcharge.

Jody Wayne Ross, aged 36, of Merthyr Dyfan Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to making contact with a person which she was prohibited from doing so by a restraining order. She was fined £75 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.

Tee-Jay Rhys Caton, aged 25, of Dorothy Close, Barry, pleaded guilty to driving without insurance. He was fined £300 and disqualified from driving for six months. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.

Marcus Darren Tagoe, aged 30, of Maes Yr Ysgol, pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour. He was discharged conditionally for 12 months and ordered to pay a £20 surcharge.
