THE following cases were heard at Cardiff and Vale Magistrates’ Court sitting at Cardiff:

Lewis Andrew Davies, aged 25, of Glanmor Crescent, Barry, pleaded guilty to possessing the class B drug cannabis. A community order was made requiring him to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £60 surcharge.

Victoria Perks, aged 45, of St Johns Hill, St Athan, pleaded guilty to speeding. She was fined £100 and had her licence endorsed with three penalty points. She was also ordered to pay a £20 surcharge.

Craig William Brunt, aged 38, of Somerset Road East, Barry, was found guilty of failing to comply with a red traffic signal. He was fined £220 and had his licence endorsed with three penalty points. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £22 surcharge.

Jay Lewis Tierney, aged 22, of Walker Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour. He was fined £50 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.

David Andrew Williams, aged 34, of Borough Avenue, Barry, pleaded guilty to possessing seven tablets of the Class C drug, Valium. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.

Zoe Jean Saunders, aged 31, of Plymouth Road, Barry, admitted stealing £57.85 worth of meat and committing fraud by making a false representation that she was the owner of handsets from which she intended to make a financial gain. She was discharged conditionally for 12 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 surcharge.
