SOUTH Wales Police is conducting enquiries into reports of pictures being taken of a teenage girl at Barry Island.

Rachel Marie wrote on Facebook that on July 25 that a man had taken pictures of her 13-year-old daughter while on the promenade.

Deputy inspector Bryn Glennie, confirmed investigations were taking place.

“Our aim now is to investigate these reports and establish the circumstances surrounding the incidents," he added.

“I would encourage all visitors to be alert to suspicious behaviour, however there is no need for alarm.

“Barry Island regularly attracts thousands of visitors each day and reports such as this are very rare.”
