SPECIAL Olympian James Savory has been added to Barry's hall of fame.
Mr Savory was joined by his family and honoured guests at the event, held on behalf of Vale of Glamorgan Council, at Barry Library earlier this month.
Councillor Fred Johnson, mayor at the town, formally inducted him.
The hall of fame was founded in 2008 to recognise sporting and cultural achievements for individuals who have excelled in their field.
Mr Savory has won gold, silver and bronze medals as a spring kayaker and artistic gymnast.
Cllr Johnson said: “James Savory has excelled all his life, and is not only a credit to himself his family and his friends, but is an inspirational role model to aspiring young athletes and all young people. He is a first class ambassador for the Special Olympics world games, and it is our absolute honour to include him in the hall of fame."
