WITH the cancellation of the one way street system in the Trinity Street area of Barry, may I suggest that the Vale of Glamorgan Council make use of the redundant one way/no entry signage to a much needed area if the town where there is a desperate need of a traffic control system?
The streets to the south of Holton Road in the Station Street and St Mary’s Avenue area have now become a nightmare for the residents, who are fed up with damage to their vehicles caused by other vehicles trying to reverse almost the length of the streets to allow oncoming traffic through.
This manoeuvring exercise can become difficult to some drivers, especially during the night time because of the reduction of street lighting.
The one way street systems in Park Crescent and north side of Holton Road have proved to be a success for many years, and also the Resident Parking Zones which are in abundance in these areas could be adapted for the troublesome area aforementioned.
Also, would it not be too much trouble to open up two streets in this area to allow a smoother flow of traffic into and out of Holton Road?
P.S. if there are any signs left over I am sure that the residents of Hannah Street would appreciate them.
