THOUSANDS of homes in Barry are currently without water after a water main burst earlier this afternoon (Thursday, February 11).
Pupils from St Helen's Junior School, on Ty Newydd Road, were sent home early due to there being no running water on site. Dwr Cymru Welsh Water have confirmed that around 1000 homes in the surrounding area of Barry town centre are also currently without water.
It is expected that the problem will be resolved at around 4.30pm, this afternoon.
It is also expected that St Helen's Junior School will be open as normal tomorrow morning (Friday, February 12).
