RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information to track down the owner of a sick tortoiseshell and white cat found near Wenvoe.

The cat was found at Alps Quarry Road and following a call to the RSPCA, was collected by animal collection officer Stephanie Davidson.

“It was great to see that this cat had been microchipped - but unfortunately the chip details are out of date,” said ACO Davidson.

“We know her name is Molly and she is registered to a CF5 postcode.

“Sadly following tests we have found out that she is quite poorly and has an injured leg. We are now trying to track down her owner.”

Anyone who may have information about Molly and her owner can contact the RSPCA inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018. Calls are treated in confidence.

Molly is currently at RSPCA’s Merthyr Tydfil Clinic.

The RSPCA would like to remind people to get their pets microchipped to give their lost pets the chance of returning home.

It is also important to register the chip with a national database and update your contact details if you move or change phone number. More information can be found at www.rspca.org.uk/allaboutanimals/pets/general/microchipping
