The following cases were heard at Cardiff and Vale Magistrates Court, sitting at Cardiff.

Louis Richard Farmer, aged 29, of Hywel Crescent, Barry was found guilty of assault. He was ordered to carry out 180 hours unpaid work and to pay £100 compensation, £620 costs and a £60 surcharge.

Paige Louise Dutton, aged 25, of Ogmore Place, Barry pleaded guilty to sending a Facebook message which was of an indecent or grossly offensive nature for the purpose of causing distress or anxiety to the recipient. She was given a 12 month conditional discharge and made the subject of a restraining order. She was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £15 surcharge.

Kelly Marie Andrews, aged 27, of Winston Road, Barry pleaded guilty to two counts of assault. She was placed under curfew for four weeks and made the subject of a restraining order. She was also ordered to pay £100 compensation, £85 costs and a £60 surcharge.

Laila Saif, aged 41, of Denbigh Way, Barry pleaded guilty to being the owner of a dangerously out-of-control dog which injured a person. She received a 12 month conditional discharge, was ordered to pay £200 compensation, £85 costs and a £15 surcharge. It was ordered that unless the dog is kept under proper control by being securely held on a lead by a person who is not less than 16 years old, being securely fitted with a muzzle sufficient to prevent it biting any person, it must be destroyed.

Ashley John Thomas, aged 33, of Charlotte Place, Cadoxton pleaded guilty to stealing clothing valued at £86.97 from TK Maxx. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £20 surcharge.
