A BARRY pub has reopened its doors following a refurbishment.

The Hungry Horse pub, Ship, closed for two weeks while a number of improvements were made and manager, Andy Jones, and his team are ready to welcome back customers.

The biggest change to the pub is the creation of a new sports zone in the bar area with a new large ultra HD projector screen to give customers a top sports viewing experience.

Changes have also been made in the restaurant area, with raised areas being levelled out, creating more seating and a more open feel. Finally, the toilets have had their own refurbishment and the amount of cask ales behind the bar has increased from two to four.

Prior to the closure for the refurbishment the pub was awarded a 5-star rating by EHO for its food hygiene rating and Mr Jones is keen to build on that positivity following the work.

He said: “Prior to reopening we made some improvements to our team and now we have matched that with the improvements to the pub itself, so we feel like we have the complete package. We want our customers to enjoy the best possible experience every time they walk through the door and with all the changes I am confident we can do that. The pub looks bright and fresh and with the addition of the sports zone and additional cask ales we have something for everyone.”
