TWO friends are about to publish the eagerly anticipated sequel to their debut novel, the "erotic romance" Hook Up.

With Hook Up receiving rave reviews from readers, Barry women Jan Harvey and Sian Jones - who write together under the pseudonym Harvey Jones - are excited to launch the sequel Legacies.

Legacies continues the story of lead characters Macy and Tobias, as well as introducing new characters, new genders and new relationships exploring the world of romance outside of "societal norms".

Miss Jones, a 58-year-old mum of one, said that the pair were delighted with the reviews their first book received.

"It does feel really good to see them," she said. "We have had good reviews from men as well."

Mrs Harvey added: "Our publishers want us to target specialist areas but there are so many people who like to read these sorts of stories. We like to feel that it appeals to both men and women. It's not just chick-lit."

The 53-year-old mum of two added: "Knowing there is an expectation around the new book is a bit scary, we hope that it lives up to expectations. The new book is different, it's still got erotica in it but it's deeper."

As well as launching their new book, the pair will also be giving a talk at Barry library where any budding authors can find out about being published and their experiences as authors.

The talk will be held at Barry Library at 11am on Tuesday, December 1.

Legacies will be released on Monday, November 30 in both physical and digital formats, available from Amazon or the Rowan Vale website.

For a limited time the Hook Up ebook is available for free, also from Amazon or Rowan Vale.
