MORE than 300 Vale of Glamorgan residents contacted the Welsh Government Warm Homes Nest scheme in 2014 to help heat their homes and reduce their energy bills.
Of the residents that got in touch, more than 120 received free home improvements and saved an average of £477 on their annual energy bills.
Lee Parry, head of Nest, said: “Nest offers a wide range of support to help people who are struggling to heat their homes and worry about their energy bills. Over 17,700 householders have received free home improvements from Nest in the past four years and saved an average of £477 a year on their energy costs.”
Nest is open to all householders in Wales and provides advice on saving energy, money management, fuel tariffs, and benefit entitlement to help reduce the cost of energy bills.
In addition to advice, people who live in a home that is hard to heat and receive a means tested benefit may also be eligible for free home improvements from Nest. These may include a replacement boiler, central heating system or insulation.
Nest can be contacted on Freephone 0808 808 2244 or visit nestwales.org.uk for advice on reducing energy bills and to find out if you qualify for a package of home energy improvements.
