YSGOL Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg will have a new headteacher in January, succeeding Dr Dylan Jones who leaves the school in December.

Hywel Price, currently headteacher of Ysgol Gyfun Rhydywaun in Penywaun, Rhondda Cynon Taf will be taking up the role at the Barry Welsh medium school.

Robert Evans, Chair of Governors at Ysgol Bro Morgannwg said: “I am delighted to be announcing Hywel Price's appointment.

"He has undertaken a number of senior leadership roles over the last 15 years and is an experienced headteacher with a proven track record.

"I was really impressed with Hywel's passion for the role and his vision for the school which will be important as we meet the many opportunities and challenges ahead."

Hywel Price said: "Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg is a very successful school and I am thrilled to have been appointed Headteacher.

"Leading a school that has a three to 19 age range is a relatively unique opportunity that I am very excited by. I am confident I can build on the outstanding work of the departing headteacher and look forward to working with my new colleagues at the school, to meeting the pupils and parents, and to developing partnerships within the wider community."
