FOLLOWING the August recess, president of Soroptimist International Barry and District, Clare Hart, had the pleasure of welcoming another new member to the club.

Retired Religious Education teacher Tracey Graham is well known in the area having taught in Bryn Hafren School, Barry, as well as Stanwell School, Penarth.

During a career break to bring up her three boys, she also qualified as a gymnastics coach and received the Volunteer of the Year Award from Barry Town Council for her voluntary work at Barry YMCA.

Tracey has supported the Malarchi Trust, an orphanage in India, for many years and is a trustee of Penarth and District Lesotho Trust, as well as supporting HIV orphans at Ty Junior Academy in Lesotho.

Her many interests include travel, reading, walking, the cinema, and visits to Stratford-upon-Avon to see Royal Shakespeare Company productions.

Jackie Memory, who sponsored Tracy, described her as enthusiastic, caring and eager to become involved in Soroptimist activities. Jackie added that her lively personality will be a real asset to the club.

Tracey lives with her husband, Mervyn, in Penarth.
