A BARRY restaurant is hoping to taste award-winning success after it was nominated for a prestigious foodie title.

Vale MP Alun Cairns has nominated Barry restaurant Shahi Noor, on High Street, to take part in the prestigious Tiffin Cup competition to find the best South Asian Restaurant in the country.

The Vale MP has been asked to nominate a local restaurant to enter the nationwide mouth-watering competition and raise money for the World Vision charity, for the 10th year.

Mr Cairns said: “I am delighted that the nomination for the Shahi Noor has been accepted and will take part in this year’s Tiffin Cup. It is a prestigious competition, and I look forward to welcoming the team from Shahi Noor to the House of Commons, should they win their regional heat.”

The Grand Final of the Tiffin Cup 2015 will be held in the House of Commons on October 27.
