MORE than 150 people enjoyed an active time out when they attended the Thompson Street Estate Summer Fun Day, in Barry, on August, 22.

The event was supported by Newydd Housing Association and also attended by Barry Communities First.

Vibe Works also rolled up with the V-Pod Bus for the youngsters to use their extensive range of technology equipped on the bus, including iPad, PS4 and mixing decks.

Resident Steve Newman said: “The children had a smashing time on the bouncy castle and with the inflatable pillow fight.

“For the first time the children were also entertained by Arnold, the balloon man, who put on a magic show, which by the numbers watching seemed to go down very well.

“Bro Radio provided excellent mix of music for all tastes, accompanied by Bro Radio's dog mascot.

“Barry Communities First attended and their staff provided excellent entertainment for the youngsters with their paint drum bicycle making beautiful pictures for them to take home.

“Local police officers also attended the fun day with their own information stall and making key rings with the children with their fingerprints inside.

“Free drinks, burgers and sausages were enjoyed by all, as the lovely sunny weather held for the afternoon.”

He added: “We would also like to thank the residents of Dunlin Court for not parking in front of their garages, enabling us to go ahead with this fab, fun afternoon.”

Vale AM Jane Hutt and Castleland councillor Pam Drake were thanked.
