YEAR 6 children from Gladstone primary school celebrated an emotional end to their first school years with a disco and ‘mocktail’ party.

The pupils performed their highly entertaining leavers’ concert in front of parents, grandparents and friends, with songs, poems, memories and sketches.

The celebrations didn’t stop there as the children partied into the evening.

The school staff wished them good luck in their secondary schools.

As well as the Year 6 leavers the school also bid farewell to two of its much valued staff members.

Ali Thomas who has taught many of Gladstone infant children over the years and Margaret Mills who has cooked delicious meals in the school canteen for more than 20 years, left Gladstone primary in Barry at the end of last term.

Fellow staff members wished them the best of luck.
