A FATHER from Barry has been banned from entering Cwmbran after admitting attacking the mother of his child.

Part-time plasterer and bar worker Lyndon Rowlands, 44, appeared at Cardiff Crown Court yesterday (Monday, July 27) having previously pleaded guilty to one charge of actual bodily harm and another of false imprisonment.

He denied a further charge of making threats to kill, and no evidence was offered by the prosecution on that count.

The court heard that the incident happened at a home in Cwmbran.

Judge David Wynn Morgan sentenced Rowlands to a total of eight months in prison suspended for two years.

He was ordered to carry out 150 hours unpaid work, was given a curfew, and a five-year restraining order prohibiting him from contacting the victim.

He was also told not to enter Cwmbran, except for work reasons.
