ALUN Cairns, Vale MP, recently met Donald Carsley, from Barry, to congratulate him on winning the Champion of Change award.
Mr Carsley was recognised for his work in establishing the Interact Club for school age children on behalf of Llantwit Major Rotary Club.
A delayed train service to London had scuppered their original meeting in Parliament, so the Vale MP arranged to visit Mr Carsley and his wife at their home to congratulate him on the award and learn more about the club.
Mr Cairns said: “Mr Carsley is a credit to the community. I was delighted to have been able to visit locally, and congratulate Don personally for the work he has done, and continues to do, for the community.”
