PREPARATIONS for ‘back to school’ are already underway at Barry Comprehensive School. Recently, the new Year 7 students and their parents visited the school to make sure they are ready for the new academic year beginning in September.

The parents of the current year six students were invited to an open evening for a presentation and the chance to chat to teachers. The boys took time out from their primary school and spent a day at Barry Comprehensive where they attended lessons, met teachers and found their way around with the help of current Year 7 students.

These preparations are part of the school’s transition programme, which is designed to make the big move to secondary education a little easier for students and their parents. All the students enjoyed the day and were a credit to their primary schools.
