A PRESENTATION evening has been held to celebrate the success of the young people involved in the Vale Council’s Emojis project.

The Emojis project, run by the Vale Council’s Youth Service team, aims to help young people learn to better express themselves, and helps them build their self-esteem and confidence levels.

The young people take part in a wide range of activities during their time on the project, all designed to improve their confidence, self-esteem, communication skills and emotional understanding.

Some of the activities included singing and music production, film making, and sound engineering, as well as sports activities, trips, and other accredited courses.

The evening saw a performance from the young people to an audience of family and friends to show how far they had come, and a film of their completed work over the duration of the course.

Certificates were presented by Vale Mayor, Councillor Howard Hamilton, and Director of Learning and Skills Jennifer Hill, who were both impressed at how much the young people had achieved in such a short period.

The Emojis project is supported by Families First, Barry YMCA, Fact, and The Hub, as well as the Council’s Youth Service who provide the workers for the project.
