SULLY-BASED Ty Hafan children’s hospice of Wales demonstrated its super-cool, super-hero powers with a Mementous Moments party.
Cleopatra, Bill and Ted and the Mario Brothers were just some of the characters who made an appearance at T? Hafan’s Children’s Hospice Week party last week. (May 11 to 17)
Making Every Moment Count’ was the theme for the awareness week to highlight how children’s hospices help life-limited children and their families make the most of the time they have left together.
Families and staff at the hospice got into the spirit by wearing fancy dress, playing time-themed games and creating time capsules.
Children's Hospice Week is the UK's only awareness raising and fundraising week for children with life-limiting conditions and the services that support them.
T? Hafan asked the public to donate to its Precious Moments Appeal supported by Alice Hicks and her family from Cardiff.
T? Hafan Ambassador Leigh Halfpenny supported the charity’s Children’s Hospice Week campaign as well as Doctor Who actor Peter Capaldi who recorded a short film for T? Hafan’s social media platforms. Michael Sheen also tweeted his support as did rugby player Mike Phillips.
T? Hafan has cared for 622 life-limited children and their families from across Wales since 1999.
It costs £3.7m a year to provide the charity’s state-of-the-art facilities at Sully and its support services to families out in the community.
