DAVID Morgan is a seasoned campaigner and a long standing member of the Liberal Party/Liberal Democrats since 1982. He has served for four years (2008 - 2012) as a City of Cardiff Councillor, where he served on Planning and Economic and Culture Scrutiny Committees.
He has been on the governing body of Grangetown Primary School since 2008 and has been chair for nearly two years.
He brings a wealth of experience having worked for 20-plus years as an IT manager in Local Government before changing jobs to work in another IT role for a finance company in Cardiff Bay - proving that you can teach an old job new tricks.
His campaign “hobby horse” is to get integrated ticketing for Vale, the M4 corridor and all of Wales, enabling a metro-style way of travelling “from Corntown to Chepstow” on a single ticket. All transport operators would sign up to the “Cockle Card”.
He is from Newport, went to college at the Polytechnic of Wales, where he studies Business Aspects of Computing and has lived and worked in Barry, Newport, Talbot Green, Pontypridd and Bridgend, so considers himself a true resident of South Wales. He is a member of his local library reading group and is a keen theatre goer. His first job from school was as a Butlins Redcoat in Barry Island.
