STATUTORY and voluntary organisation can apply for a Domestic Abuse Service Capital Grant for 2015-15 to help fund projects working to reduce violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence.

The grants will be used to fund a small number of larger scale building and infrastructure projects.

Leighton Andrews, Minister for Public Services, announced funding totalling £969,000 and said: “I want to see this money delivering on Welsh Government priorities in this area.

“Projects demonstrating a clear benefit to victims and survivors of abuse will be my top priority, along with those that have secured match funding.

“It is important that we build the capacity of organisations to provide timely, quality support to survivors of violence and abuse, and ensure the effective implementation of the Violence against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (Wales) Bill, which was passed by the National Assembly in March.

“I look forward to receiving applications before the closing date of June 12 and will announce the successful projects in the summer.”
