TWO men have been knocking doors canvassing for Unicef in what appears to be a scam, South Wales Police have warned.
Police are issuing a warning to residents to beware of people going door to door asking for donations in what appears to be a scam being operated in the Vale of Glamorgan area.
The two men appear to be canvassing for Unicef, however Unicef UK have confirmed that the men are not authorised to fundraise for the charity.
If a member of the public has doubts about the authenticity of a fundraiser then Unicef UK would advise them to contact the charity’s supporter care team on 0300 330 5580.
The scammers are currently using Unicef as a cover, but may in fact also use other charities to sell the deceit.
