AS one era ended, another began when Barry Island Pleasure Park opened to the public on Good Friday, April 3.
Meanwhile, the Log Flume – the iconic emblem at the resort’s gateway quietly met its final fate while the crowds enjoyed the fun of the thrill and children’s rides on the upper end of the site.
Workmen began a three-day demolition that will eventually see the must-go-on ride replaced with a £1.2m Log Flume and more family-friendly rides and attractions.
The Danter development is expected to take up to five years to turn into the high-spec attraction that the family is seeking to achieve to help make Barry Island the “best tourist attraction in Wales.”
