ON March 27, Jane Hutt AM hosted her 15th spring breakfast at Cardiff and Vale College Barry Campus with the theme 'ageing well in Wales'.

The Older People’s Commissioner for Wales, Sarah Rochira, was the guest speaker and guests included third sector organisations and the Over 50s Forum.

Like every year the breakfasts were cooked and presented by the hospitality students at the college.

Jane Hutt said: “This year’s spring breakfast theme was about older people and I was delighted to introduce our excellent speaker, Sarah Rochira to talk about the Ageing Well in Wales Programme. This programme, (the first of its kind in the UK) contributes to and complements the Welsh Government’s Strategy for Older People and champions a positive attitude towards ageing and the benefits an ageing society brings. It will ensure older people have a strong voice that is listened and responded to and the overall aim is an improvement in the measurable wellbeing of people aged 50+ in Wales. I would like to thank all those who attended and to congratulate the wonderful staff and students at Cardiff and Vale College who prepared and served us a delicious breakfast.”
