BARRY children had a half-term treat when two Cardiff Blues rugby stars visited Barry County Library.
Props Gary Powell and Taufa'ao Filise were supporting a Wales-wide campaign aimed at encouraging more people to use their local library - and were happy to sign autographs for the many fans who showed up.
The month-long nationwide campaign, entitled Welsh Libraries - Something to Shout About, will see famous Welsh faces taking part in events at libraries all over Wales.
Barry's Senior Librarian Sandra Wildsmith said: "It's great to see so many people using the wonderful facilities we have in Barry.
"I'd say about 1,500 people a day use the library now with more at weekends. Saturdays and after school are the busiest times.
"Lots of people who wouldn't normally visit a library are now coming in."
l Anyone wishing to join the library should take along one item of personal ID showing your name and address.
