A WOMAN who was cut out of her vehicle after a two car smash on Holton Road has been taken to the University Hospital of Wales.
A collision between a Daewoo Matiz and a Volkswagon Beetle occurred on the junction of Holton Road and Thompson Street at around 1.30pm today (Thursday, February 19).
The road was closed off for around two hours while two teams of Firefighters from Barry cleared the vehicles and extricated a woman from the Matiz using cutting equipment.
Two emergency ambulances attended the scene, and the woman was taken to the University Hospital of Wales.
The extent of her injuries could not be confirmed by a South Wales Ambulance service spokeswoman but the Barry & District understands that they were not serious.
